Places to visit in Foz do Iguaçu

I always take them to the World Heritage Iguacu Falls. One of the wonders of the world having 273 waterfalls in one area.
Many things to do in the National Park as well as the Bird Park with many tropical birds and small tropical animals.Tres Fronteira is an overlook of the borders of BR, PY and AR. New improvements and nice dining overlooking the river
There is a helicopter flight over the Falls for a "birds eye" view of all the Falls and the city.
Itaipu Hydrogenation Plant in Foz is one the largest in the world. It supplies 80% of PY electricity and 30% of Brazil's, Itaipu has tours. One complete tour inside the generation plat, control room and over the dam. down the spillway and to the bottom of the dam. Half of the facilites are located in PY. (No PY Visa required due to being on Federal Gov Lands.) They also have a night light show and movie of the construction of the generation plant. Light Show has music theme.
There is a Buddhist Temple to visit and enjoy the peaceful temple.
Foz is over 300,000 people. With the borders of PY and AR with in 15 minutes of downtown.
There are many luxury resort hotels, with one inside the National Park. From Hostels to Golf resorts Foz has them.

Living in Foz Do Iguaçu or Iguassu, which borders three countries; Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. On the Brazilian side you have a large number of hotels, hostels and B&B’s. Many different places to dine (Fine dining to late night Cataratas Marina seafood, hidden on the river bank between Argentina and Brazil.) You have the largest collection of tropical birds in one park, more Brazilian BBQ than you can count. On the northern side of Foz you will find a Buddhist Temple, Itaipu National Park which has one of the largest hydroelectric plants in the world. There are tours of the park (nature and animals) and you may tour the hydroelectric generating plant which includes guides (many languages spoken) and the Control center. This tour also takes you over the Itaipu dam into Paraguay briefly (the facility lies within both Brazil and Paraguay with only a “painted stripe” indicating the border), then down to the base of the dam and spillway/river and back to the entry. It is a nice tour. They also have a light show at night in the summer. Low price and you see a movie of the dam and plant followed by the light show. (Begins around 21:00).
There are many English speaking people in Foz, but most are in the tour sector. Some doctors who studied in the US and England speak English. It is difficult to find English speaking in the Mercado’s and lojas
