Some food at grills went up 3%.
Health Insurance up 8%
If you´re renting, rents went up more than 10% this year.

I have 2 Supermarkets similar Costco or Sams Club within 5 minutes walk from the apartment there about a football field apart, I shop both for promotions so I can buy more beer and garganzola cheese and Oreo's( made in Mexico..kkk),then I do the $2r Specials bananas and apples, pineapples and seasonal vegatables and fruits, ice cream on sale only, lettuce $2r,I don't buy Iceburg (lol) or brocoli and call it a day. I buy beer on Alcohol content the Name cost more...I buy low salt items and stay away from Brand names of the USA or Products non domestic . Who can argue with Brand name Vodka (no propoganda they ain't paying me to promote there name (lol/kkk/smh)...I hate the one store I have to buy the bag to carry my stuff home, I got smart and grab a produce bag for my small things and then I call it a day...jus telln...lol
There´s a lot of chopp drinkers in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul. Many German and Polish descendants and a lot of craft beer variety.
At the place where I drink, there are loads of people consuming the same stuff. I go like 9pm to make sure that those early birds already gulped up all the pathogenic bacteria on those lines or the tap if any. LOL! I`m a regular customer and I complain when I get the sour (old stock) chopp. They always open a new one for me and replace it without a charge...
Lots of beautiful girls too!
You must be referring to supermarket Atacadão (Costco style) where you have to buy the plastic bag to put the merchandise in. I´m doing the same thing like you - just
getting the large bags from the produce sector to put the groceries in or any box available at the corridors.
From cold Alaska to Amapa... How can you endure that heat? I live in the southernmost state of Brazil and can´t withstand the heat especially the last 2 days. I´m contemplating to move to higher altitudes:
1. Gramado, RS: about 890 meters above sea level
2. Curitiba, PR: about 870 above sea level
3. Campos do Jordão, SP: 1,600meters above sea level (highest in Brazil). 2 hours from
the city of São Paulo.
4. São Joaquim, SC: 1,400meters above sea level. Population: about 24,000. This is where
most apples in Brazil come from.
5. Ranco Queimado, SC: about the same altitude as São Joaquim... 50km to Floripa.
That 4br apt here in RS would cost you at least 2,500 reais (684USD) at today´s rate. Plus the condo fee of about 700reais. So you´re doing good and groceries even cheaper at your place of residence...
Did you happen to live close to Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage?

The Store is correct, yet I don't give them name cred (lol) the competitors are across the highway that's the danger the road (kkk) I was stationed @ EAFB for 6 years, lived in Alaska for 37 years, one day through a dart at the map and Brazil Bulls eye. Yup I understand Cost of Living and the Cheaper the better, my Pension sucks and I hate cities over 300,000 inhabitants. I like SP and Rio never been to either just to much hype, it was like the California Dreamin crap being fed to the east coast back in the 60's. Groceries so cheap I have to yell for help to get me out of the frickn place. I don't eat street food for the grease/soy is bad stuff. I got a pizza joint near the house I may splurge today and get a pepperoni and soda ....or pull out a 120 day aged steak and put some potatoes on and a salad all for about $8.00usd and it is a 1 pound Nova York Steak....lmao...Yup the rent is fine here and in Alaska a 2 bedroom was running $1,500.00usd per month and no food...kkk.

Ain't in Amapá (I'm in a secret location/kkk) looking for work in Amapa(wanna help tear up the Rain Forest with the new President/rotflmbo),my initial intro to Brazil was Hot and Hot Belem for 2 years, I was born in Georgia, spent a few years in muggy Ohio, the heat wasn't the problem in Belem (air conditioning and every room had a ceiling fan ) it was the women,my,my,my (lol) all hungry for a "NAG=North American Gringo"(copyright pending/lmao). I keep the paid for bags from the store yet allways 4 get to take them with me but not today, as a matter of fact let me grab those puppies now (lol). I traveled a lot in my last job and we had to wear ties and dress slacks ad the usual corporate wear from Alaska to Georgia to Arizona, Las Vegas,Texas ad all points between. I just went to a friends sons graduation and it was 95 degrees and I was the only guy in a shirt and tie (don't imagine that/lol) Never let them see you Sweat (right). I like #3 and 4 on your list ,yet I need 6,500 above Sea Level ( in case there's a tsunami ) other than that the 2 States I border now are fine and the women are hot....lol
