USPS Mail from New York to São Paulo

Question.

How long does it normally take for a regular USPS mail (envelope) to get here in São Paulo from the East Coast, specifically New York. My brother sent me a envelope with a vital document for my visa process by regular USPS mail (I was pissed cuz it needed to be FEDEX but anyway... ship has sailed) and I was wondering how long it would normally take before I start freaking out and worrying.

Thanks

Uh oh, normally 1 - 2 weeks would be my guess. I am in the central part of Brazil and it takes 2 -3 weeks to get any regular mail.
We get regular mail in about 3 weeks in Vitoria ES

thanks guys, just kinda freaking out cuz the document is time sensitive and hard to replace. does stuff normally come 'normally' i guess for lack of better terms. like things dont go missing etc
you can be sure your mail will arrive in Brasil but from there on its all in the hands of the Gods
Yup ,3-5 weeks has been average for my mail .
I mailed my Christmas cards from Oregon to SP in September and they arrived at different times, and most were late. I flew to SP the first of December and I guess should have brought them with me and mailed them from there.

I have had great luck with the mail service within Brazil, especially buying through Mercado Livre, wow, very fast and so far, extremely reliable.

The Postal system in Brazil is a disgrace.
No further comment.
The posts began in 2018.
I would agree it has gone downhill since, Effective April 10, 2020, the Postal Service will temporarily suspend international mail acceptance to destinations where the foreign postal operator has indicated that they are unable to process or deliver international mail or services originating from the United States.
I have still not received my tax refund in the USA.  I filed in February.  I suspect the USPS rather than the IRS.  Its not enough to quibble about but Im salivating in case they try to tell me I owe them money again this year......so do not talk about Brazil inefficiencies to me .....
Stick with FEDEX.   It works.
Mercado Livre is handling their parcels, at least in Sao Paulo, through their own labeled vans.

It goes to tell how unreliable Brazilian Postal Service it is.
We have not received any of the mail sent to us from US or Europe except for once in February 2021.  I've told family and friends to stop trying.   Not sure where this mail ends up but definitely not the addressee!

Brasil is on that list.
Mail may be held by the USPS.
Where is Grizz when we need him?
I just checked the USPS site. SP and Curitiba are experiencing delays due to staffing and Covid.

From education to hemorrhoids, it would seem that everyone, everywhere, is blaming anything and everything on Covid today. It has sure made for some convenient excuses.

The only issue I’ve had over the past year was during the greve in September; otherwise, I’ve received USPS priority packages in a very timely manner - normally less than 2 weeks.
My mom sent a letter via normal post from Canada to Brazil. Entire process took about 6 months. While it landed here and was sitting for a long time. All the photos and items enclosed were untouched
