According to the article below,
Stunning Impeachment Statistics
"Of 65 members on the impeachment commission, 37 face charges of corruption or other serious crimes, according to data prepared for the Los Angeles Times by the local organization Transparencia Brasil.
Of the 513 members of the lower house in Congress, 303 face charges or are being investigated for serious crimes. In the Senate, the same goes for 49 of 81 members."
What a sad joke!
However, I still think that Dilma should resign because at this point, she is clearly ineffective as a leader and this does not help Brazil.
Funny tidbits about last night's proceedings that I learned from my Brazilian friends tonight:
1. A clown - yes, Representative Tiririca is an actual former clown - voted last night. Perhaps he was the only one qualified to vote in this circus that we call Brazilian politics. Ha!
2. A female representative who delivered an anti-corruption speech before voting "Yes" last night, had her husband arrested today on corruption charges. LOL
3. Representative Jean Wyllys, who won Big Brother Brazil, is openly gay, spit on the conservative homophobic Representative Jair Bolsonaro, who is known as the "Donald Trump of Brazil."
4. One representative denounced Temer, Cunha, corruption and then proceeded to vote..."Yes." LOL

some one should tell here that she is Guilt by association
Guilt by association means that you personally didn't really do something wrong but that people who you are associated with did. You are judged by the company you keep, so you can be viewed as guilty because of your association with wrongdoers.
I wonder if complaining to the powerless U.N is a deaf ear. Looks like someone lost the futebol game and wants to deflate the ball.

I think notI hope my life never depend, on RT,
up the works
RT.com is also "mainstream media", but on the other side. I find it fairly reliable as an alternative to the usual US/NATO propaganda. Here's a recent blog of mine that disrespects the latter. Members of the forum should feel free to comment on it. (It wasn't written as a debating point, because my blogsite doesn't deal in debates; but it states a point of view - an anti-war one, most of the time.)

the only media that get near the truth is the BBC,
I'm I to believe, your "anti war", well so am i as well, but believe me its coming
spanishpete wrote:...the only media that get near the truth is the BBC
The BBC lied to me - and the entire world - about Saddam Hussein's alleged weapons of mass destruction, and that lie began the wholesale slaughter of a million people in the Middle East and the destruction of much of the region's infrastructure. It has never expressed any remorse, and is never likely to. It reports what its controllers tell it to report - nothing less, nothing more.
Its reporting of the situation in Brazil follows the same pattern. It is not allowed to report anything but the officially authorised side of any international conflict, whether it's WMDs or the CIA's version of what's going on in Brazil. Pete, you can sneer at me all you want, but I do my "due diligence" by checking other news-sources, and I recommend that every other member of this forum do the same.

philmoto85 wrote:I like the Intercept. Glenn Greenwald, who broke the Edward Snowdon leak is one of the principals there. He is definitely no the mainstream and as he lives in Rio has a closer perspective. He has done reporting on the site in English and Portuguese. He interviewed Dilma after the impeachment. I though the interview was sympathetic but in general I think his reporting has been fair.

I agree with you that The Intercept carries some good-value stuff. Another reliable source is Consortium News. Here's one of its commentators' take on the current coup in Brazil:
