CRNM renewal with PF - docs required

Besides the application form for renewal of CRNM, existing CRNM card, passport and proof of payment are there any other docs required to take to the PF when renewing your CRNM. I read somewhere that you also need proof of address in Brazil and some photos? Can anyone who has done this recently confirm what is needed?! Thanks

It's all online. Just search for "what documents are needed for crnm renewal"........you'll get the official government site with their reply in the results, as well as several immigration lawyers.

You'll definitely need gas or electricity or cell phone bills in your name and the original marriage cert if you got this visa thru marriage.

Thanks for your reply. I guess the rule of thumb in Brazil is the more documents you have the better!

Short answer: yes to proof of address, no need to bring photos.

Beyond the four items you listed, take:

1. **Proof of address in Brazil** (recent) — utility bill, rental contract, or similar. They do ask for this.

2. **Copies of everything** — passport photo/visa/stamp pages, CRNM, payment receipt, proof of address. Originals plus copies.

Photos: the PF takes your photo digitally at the appointment, so printed 3x4s aren't required. I still toss two recent ones in the folder as backup — some officers ask, and it's cheap insurance.

Two more things worth knowing: the CRNM issuance fee is paid via GRU (keep the receipt), and you can start the renewal up to 90 days before the card expires — don't let it lapse. The exact document list can vary a bit by residence category, so the checklist the PF online form generates for your request type is the final word.

Hope that clears it up.
