Welcome!  Are you talking about the municipality of Casimiro de Abreu in the interior of the State of Rio?  When asking about Brazilian cities, especially interior cities, it always helps to include the state -- this is a big country, and municipal names are often repeated.

At one time we had members living not to far away in Macaé, but they've been silent for some time now.  The oil industry tends to refresh the expat community there, so the community itself probably still exists. Best of luck in finding local expats.

Thank you for responding. Yes, I bought a home in Casemiro de Abreu in the state of Rio they should be moving there sometime September October. Do you have any experience with Starlink in rural areas? Thanks again for your input. Regards. Boondog

Hi, @Boondog.  I do not, but I live in a major city.  We have a few members in remote locations in the interior who may be using the service; I've asked Moderation to move your post to a new thread with a title that's more apt to attract their attention and responses than this one.

Its hit and miss. and with the density of clouds in brazil you will be hard pressed for signal on the norm. Humidity and clouds = worse and poor signals.

Is there any specific reason your anchoring to something like starlink ?
