The visa requirement for American citizens have been discussed extensively in the following threads

Here is a link to apply to a e-visa -> https://www.gov.br/mre/pt-br/consulado- … sa-e-visa.  You may want to look at your closest consulate and find out about the e-visa requirement.

Please note that the e-visa application is different from the CPF application.

My experience with CPF application is as follows -> https://www.expat.com/en/forum/south-am … r-cpf.html

Good luck.

Well I followed instructions inside the consulate, filled, downloaded documents, and printed the form, I assume that I have to send the form, photos, travel tickets and fees by mail

Have you tried the e-visa application process-> https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/?  This process is all digital.

The photos, pictures of the tickets, online forms can be scanned and uploaded.  Fees can be paid by credit card.

Can you try?

@Hugodc2000 For the future you may consider a direct personal tactic. Every Professional Job I obtained in my major after college was because I knew someone at the company and they recommended me / guided me through the process. Now that I am retired EVERY step I take (manager at Banco Do Brazil, Former Official at the Brazilian Consulate in D.C.) is with someone I know.
