BB Americas Bank in Florida free transfers?

antonioggriffin

The BB Americas Bank in Florida says,

free transfers to Brasil S.A in Brazil.

Can anyone chime in on this?

PS,

I'm already in the process of setting up an account, but I haven't sent a cash deposit yet.

Don’t buy it. There’s no fees but the conversion rate is insanely low. It’s trickery.

Wow, good call!

Would you recommend I set up my online account with Iti Itau, and use the app Wise to send money for the best conversion rate?

Wise gets the best conversion I’ve found. Bank accounts are tricky. You need proof of address and everything sorted. We ended up doing Nubank and Bradesco once I had my rnm because of the hassle with other banks. Turned out the RF messed up my cpf which prob was the cause. For large transfers you end up at the mercy of the bank. Bradescos rate was awful when we bought property, was incredibly slow and screwed us in the end. Not sure if others would be better.

06/06/23. We had a very pleasant experience with Banco do Brasil (in Brazil) when we bought our apartment. But I think that on any major purchase a lot depends on the local branch and the responsiveness and professionalism of the individuals who work there, especially the ones in charge.

I do a monthly transfer and periodically compare the rate I get from BB to Wise's rate at the same day and time for my own amusement. This month I did and they were only a few centavos (BRL) apart. I'm ok with that.

We do most of our banking with BB, but my husband still has an account with Bradesco from his high school days. We find them to be less responsive and a little more expensive than BB, although no Brazilian bank is a bargain.

In the case of Bradesco transfers actually get run through a central agency and the local has a small part. That surprised me because the central ended up being a huge mess.
