US Health Coverage for my Wife

if you reside in  a Commonwealth State, and you have no property under your name, then you should be able to get her taken care on emergencies. 

You can take your property and transfer to an LLC. Can't have anything under your name, or they will go after your holdings for recourse.

Commonwealth States meant by....  Massachusetts, New York, Virginia, maybe California. There might be others.   

Hospitals in some states pool in deferred money ( I think it goes like 1% of gross billings towards the indigent pool ), which is used to treat these cases, so they don't incur in any denial of service liability lawsuit.

It also helps to have bare coverage ( the OIbama Care plans ).,

A Bronze Plan under the Affordable Care Act may be the kind of coverage she wants at a cost that works in her budget.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. We have looked into affordable care plans but the least costly of these is still around $300+ per month which we kind of feel is a little much since she has such good coverage in Brazil. We are now looking into "Visitors Insurance" which is kind of like travel insurance but is available to green card holders.

Try collecting your claims  on those...  That's a big hurdle.
