Going to West Papua for a Road Project

Hi there mga Kababayang Pinoy!

I am Ben, i work in Singapore, we got a project in Timika West Papua Indonesia. It's a road project and our company supplied a soil stabilizer for this project.

I just want to know about the place more, as it's more convincing pag ung mga Kababayan natin ung nag sabi mismo ng experience nila as dun sa search lang sa Google.

Marami po bang mga Pinoy na nag wowork dun? As i red, the people of papua wants their freedom from Indonesian government,So medyo alarming lang kung safe ba naman?

My boss ask me to check a vaccine for malaria before going.

West Papua is part of Indonesia where mga consituents like to be citizens of Papua New Guinea. Ensure your security there and have a malaria vaccine.

No ideas if roaming of globe or smart may do. Had read that globe roaming is doing good.

No such thing as malaria vaccine. There are tablets available that you take daily or weekly.
Wear trousers and long sleeved shirts. Buy plenty of insect repellent and use it.

Do we have kababayan working in Timika area? or most are in PNG..

is it safe to work there now in Timika Papua? I just kinda nervous...
