Hey Julien,

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I’m currently looking into breaking into Game dev and am exploring the possibility of doing this remotely from Fiji. I don't have any professional experience in the field yet, but the goal is to set up a flexible, remote lifestyle where I can learn, work, and enjoy everything the islands have to offer.

Excited to join the community and learn from everyone here!

@Julien

Greetings from Salt Spring Island, BC, Canada.

I’m planning a trip to Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia later this year with a view to selecting one of them as an annual seasonal destination. I’m an elderly, well travelled Scot who also has Canadian and Polish (EU) citizenships. I’ll likely rent for the first season but want to familiarise myself with the real estate market as best as I can on a first trip as I intend to buy in due course. I’m not a town or city person but appreciate being fairly near services and facilities. I’d prefer oceanfront with enough land to serve as an acoustic buffer between me and neighbours.

I’d appreciate any suggestions and comments that might help me in identifying recommended places and which to steer clear of. Also I’d appreciate ex pats views on what the weather pattern during the wet season is like. I have lived in a very wet environment - Tofino, BC - that receives over 120 inches a year - which I understand is close to the precipitation in eastern parts of Fiji.
