If you are moving to Dubai the government have a lot of great Local apps, one of the best is "Dubai now"

I use following apps in UAE

Careem for transport ( bit expensive than RTA taxis )
Uber
Google Maps ( even the RTA drivers ask for gmap location for driving around in U.A.E )
