Under standard UAE residency rules, you must enter the country at least once every 180 days (6 months) to keep your visa active.

However, if you hold a Golden Visa (which is also an investor visa), this 180-day rule does not apply—you can stay outside the UAE for any duration without losing your residency. For standard 3-year partner/investor visas, the 180-day rule typically still stands.

Keep in mind that maintaining your visa is crucial for your local banking. UAE banks frequently audit residency status; if your visa is invalidated, your accounts may be frozen or restricted.

re-enter before day 180 if you can — one flight, counter resets, no ambiguity. If you need longer, apply for a re-entry permit *before* the deadline, not after. And confirm directly with SRTIP and ICP (Sharjah, so ICP rather than GDRFA) — SRTIP administer your visa and will know your specific category.
