HELP! New Engineering Visa but 3 year U.K. Bachelor

Kacimou44

Dear all,

I have just been offered a job in Riyadh with an international company. I have been reading and it seems that the Saudi Engineering Council membership is required and a minimum 4 years Bachelor degree is required. My degree is from the U.K. from a very well known university here but as typical for UK bachelor degrees, it is only 3 years. I am now worried that if I quit my job here and take the one in Saudi, I may not be able to get Iqama.

1) Has anyone had his 3 year UK bachelor degree accepted in saudi for the Iqama?

2) If the Saudi Engineering Council rejects my applications, is there a solution (maybe changing the job title ?) or does it mean I have to leave the country?

Many thanks for you advice

As long as the company can manage your profession your could live here. There are many professions available for Technicians but it depends on your area of work, company etc. FYI, some expats with the certain professions on Iqama are not allowed to bring the family. I'd suggest, have a detailed discussion(here Iqama related stuffs are not stable) with company HR or concern person.

Thank a lot of your response. Is it allowed to change the profession if the Saudi Engineering Council refuses the engineering profession? I.e. can the company change it to technician for example and I can get Iqama on that basis?
