Polite but firm phrases in Arabic to make men leave you alone?
Hello,
I'm looking for key Arabic phrases that will ward off sexual harassment. I am looking for POLITE but STRONG words only (no swearing).
For example"Ihtirim halak" and "Allah beshoofak"
Also, is there a respectful way to tell someone to shut up (a taxi driver that won't stop asking questions) or someone to leave you alone (an old man that keeps asking for money)?
Thank you!
i think the best way to make someone stop talking to you or leave you alone is ignoring him, just don't answer them specially taxi drivers they wont stop talking if you answered them.
good luck and i hope you find a solution for your problem
3ibbbbbbbbb 3laik! lol
Ignore them ! if you say something then you are inviting them to engage in a long and useless conversation. If needs be,and it becomes really uncomfortable then you can always threaten with calling the police!wishful thinking, but i certainly hope its the last time you get harassed in Amman
If he comes to u nicely,Just tell him u are married and u don't like him ,if it was me I would never look at u again..
or Give him ur phone number
.
give him your number
if he is sexy. if he is ugly call the police
No Number ,Just talk2him and go further ,if he offers u dinner accept ,Enjoy life ...I know I am a bad boy but I like it
hahah im joking about it. do what you would do in your country.. it is all about common sense.. they are not a different species.. they understand when you dont want anything. but it also does not hurt to meet people even if they are men. whats the point to be there when you are isolated!
Come on ,We are just men trying to make new relations ships with nice women ,Friends and if it works we go further.
Sometimes we don't know how to approach a women to start talk with us .I am sure no man out there wants to meet new lady to sleep with her or merry her the next day,but we see nice looking lady and we like to know her more..WE ARE NOT ANIMALS .
Later ...Chris
Well, I kind of like the subject because it allows me to think and scrub my mind.... Let me see, I thin a woman/man can use expressions like "Imshi ya wisi5 [meaning go off dirty!!] or [2alil tirbayeh [meaning impolite!!], or wahid 2alil 2adab [also means impolite!] or you can say istahi 3ala dammak [meaning shame on you!!] or ask him the question: Bti2balha 3ala ukhtak??? [meaning: do you accept someone to say the same to ur sister???] because this question is provocative and would usually make the harasser feel guilt-ridden... I thank you for raising this question..
By the way, I am plannin to arrange a meeting next Sunday in Amman, Pastiche cafe in City Mall...
i wish you all the best in Amman
