Expat Get Together

Hi All,

Just a suggestion,

Why can't we have an Expats Get together like the other Expat networks have ???? I Met many great peoples from there who is really keen sharing their positive ideas,but why only from Expat.com i never seen person who tried to convince other expats for like monthly get together or meeting up for real forum somewhere ? all i see is only peoples typing behind their keyboard,Any Suggestion ?

I like the idea Kate but to be honest: I don't think there are many expats on this forum.
You can see at the amount of members who responding on some topics and the others are just readers.

Well,sadly true

some of them just readers,unlike any other expat networks i attend,they are very active peoples and mingled great with each other or maybe the other networks are mostly more open minded peoples,anyhow i love being with them,just feel like to shout out loud to get peoples from Expat.com together to mingle better,but seems no one interested !

Been thinking: the best way that maybe succeed is to held it in a place with is suitable for most of the people, this is also for the day and time.
In the weekend is maybe the most convenient time because people are working or have other issues. It must be also attractive for children so they can meet up as well and parents don't have to look for a babysitter.

So, what do you think?

Great idea

but are they interested ? its bit hard to know what peoples want ? are they just wanted to get to know each other through here or are they prefer to have a real meeting ?i really look forward to meet peoples with positive outlook n gather with them sharing ideas,like i always had with other Expat networks,they had good time,and they become good friend too,so,can't we do the same thing like they did ?

This sounds like a good plan. I'm just new here and in Amman too. A get together would be really great and helpful for me and my sister.

Lets see of other members are intersted and what they expect from the meetings.
We can start with a few people.

Hello dears, if I may add

it's nice to have group to belong to, wow! but would it be great to have a purpose or goal? As for me, I am a working mom and it's hard really to fix my schedule considering I have a son to take care also. But we all need some time for ourselves, right Primadonna? We also need a place and at least a fix date to meet....Miss you Prima and Kate

Well,made gathering once or twice but then Pufffffffff....no one is coming,everyone is goin nowhere to be found !!!!!!!! surprisely,not even one of them trying to keep in touch,hahhahaaaaaaa,,,,the goal will be set if only we are together,let say like the one i attend for the moment,we met often with the same group even new faces comes up,but Expat.com seems Dull,no one interested to have the same goal like we have here in other expat networks,anyway whatever

Yes, kids should be always bring at all the occasions, they are part of the expats too.
Baniaz is right: you need to time to things let grow, we can share our experiences on this blog, just our gathering time and place. People get curious and want to join in.

Any suggestions for a location?
Why not to start at somebody's house?
