Work conditions are generally good here in Erbil, of course all depends on the industry you are in. You get a lot of and companies are mostly flexible. There arnt any specific rule for families here and plenty of good private schools to choose from that teach primarily in English. There are a lot of malls and restaurants, places for kids to enjoy too. hope that helps

we are planing for move to Erbil next year i have two kind, one of them will go to school grade one, i wonder if the social there are safe and friendly to kind and i wonder its easy to joint the school for my kind, since our mother language is Arabic i am good in English but i am afraid for my kind to face some difficult in the school. and i wonder if there and facility for the family there and for nursery too

I have received job in Erbil, Iraq. Will be part of a famous automobile brand in Iraq as Executive. But the company have not offered the salary package. They have asked me to select my package. As I don’t know the life style there, What should be my requirement as a descent salary. Is it possible to bring my family to Erbil and what are the formalities I required to meet. Is it difficult to take our family with us to Erbil.
I hope will have a good time with the good people, culture and traditions of Erbil.

How much expense will come for taking driving license and what are the formalities and how much duration it will take

I am an expatriate, and I am moving to Erbil soon, working in oil and gas sector. I was searching about people living in Erbil through expat-blog Iraq network to know about, and of course I am inquiring about the situation and way of life there, and I would like to get more updated information about living in Erbil.

I have one child, 9 years old, and he will go to school grade 5. I wonder how is the way of life regarding the security for the family there. Through this forum, I noticed that in Erbil are three international schools in English language: which one of them is suggested.

Do I need to know anything important before I arrive?

I shall highly appreciate your tips/help/guidance.

What about sports for the kids?  Soccer, gymnastics swimming ect?
