Moving from Sandefjord to Olso in next few months.

I will be moving with my hubbie and kids from Sandefjord to Oslo in the coming months. I need to find a job in English. I have intermediate Norwegian which does not seem to get me any other work but barnehagen work in Sandefjord. I am a Project Manager and Senior Key Account Manager. Plan to move to the Asker-Lysaker area. Have you any suggestions how to find English jobs besides finn.no and how difficult will it be to get a decent job? All advise welcome. Alas I do not come from a oil, engineering, marine or gas industries - if only!

Might be worth considering marine if possible..? Not sure how translateable your skills are, but I'm sure if you're willing to go in at a lower rate to begin with you could do something. For the Oslo area in any case, the marien industry is massive (though alot have moved overseas due to the marvellous business conditions in norway...a lol) and it is about as international as you can get.

You also have the international school in Oslo if thatsof any interest..? Anyway, sorry for rambling, I have no clue on what your profession entails.

I am from bergen, got a job in Sandefjord. I am wondering how is life in sandefjord. are there good appartments for rent etc. is it good to settle for 1 year. i have a 4 months old baby.

I lived there 10 years ago. Its quiet. I moved from Sandefjord to Bergen, prefered Bergen. But it's a nice and relaxed seaside town. Tonsberg is close, the ferry to Sweden and things. Flats are quite nice in parts, and relatively cheap.

I would advise at you should at job description that fits your profile also in Norwegian. Intermediate Norwegian is enough to work here as most of the big companies around Oslo have their working language as English. It may be a little challenging the first weeks, but you will adapt very fast.
