self employed person considering moving to Norway

Kerstediston

Hi there,

Me and my partner are considering moving to Norway in the next year from the UK.
I am a self employed tattoo artist, I have guested at studios in Bergen and seem to be building up a small client base. I also own a studio here in the UK which provides regular income when I’m not there. Working shouldn’t be an issue if all goes to plan and I can continue to build a base of clients.
I was just wondering, does being self employed change how you can apply to become a resident?
I’ve done some digging online but it’s a little confusing, one place says I need a job offer which would be included with the paper work when I apply, another says I wouldn’t need this because I’m self employed so imagine it’ll be the rest of the paper work without a job offer?
Also, as someone who isn’t a resident of Norway, can I buy housing property without issue?

Thanks so much in advance!  :)
