Hi, I am from Spain, I am living in UK for 6 years(London), looking in Belfast (from 10 February) for something minimum 1 months or more if is OK and i feel comfortable after that time. I like travel, languages, read non fiction books at the moment. Very tranquil, tidy guy, polite and aware I share the space with more people.

Thanks for the welcome.  It seems that I will not be able to retire in Northern Ireland, sad to say.  I do not fit in any of the established catagories and 'Retire in Norther Ireland' isn't one of them.

Best to you, Linda

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

I guess it all depends on what you're looking for; I lived in Northern Ireland for 3 years (albeit a long time ago).  To the present day, at the moment it is relevantly quiet there, but as you've seen in the past couple of months, it does not take much to rile some people up, and they take to the streets causing bother.  50 years on, you will still find places where the kerb stones and some houses/walls are painted in the colours of whatever faction the "artist" supports.

If your current trip is only short term, then you're probably looking at a hotel or similar - nobody is going to rent you an apartment or house for just a month.  So my advice is to first of all use a hotel, then once you have made your mind up, then look for something contractual where you will get more value for your money.

I hope this helps.
