EU Verification Law

Lipsku

Hello, i had a question that i really need an answer to, I am stuck kind of, Myself (A polish citizen living in Ireland) and My wife (Turkish Citizen living in Turkey) planned to move to Netherlands some time soon for a fresh start, however we read that she will have to get EU verification law done and that requires her to be in Netherlands? Can I not do it for her? since I am an EU citizen and she is not it's gonna be easier on me.

Additionally IF she has to come to Netherlands what kind of visa would she have to apply for? Visit, Tourist or Join family visa or what? We really wanna get things done.

Also we read somewhere that I might have to work for a year or have a 1 year contract before she can even come and apply to live in Netherlands with me, is it true?

I got some information from a lawyer incase anyone needs, its quite useful if you're in the same situation as me.

Dear Mr. Lipsku,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

For your wife to be able to apply for verification against EU law, you and your wife indeed must be in the Netherlands. To travel to the Netherlands, you wife must be in the possession of a valid visa. As the spouse of an EU citizen, your wife may be eligible for free visa facilitation. Please see this website for more information: Can I get visa facilitation for the Netherlands? | Netherlands Worldwide.

It is not necessary to prove that you have work for 1 year or have an employment contract valid for 1 year, as long as you prove that you either:

work for 16 hours per week / earn approx.. € 854,- per month; or

you and your wife have sufficient income from other sources which prevent you from applying for social welfare with the Dutch government (bijstand).

If you and your wife wish to discuss your situation in further detail, I am pleased to do this during a consultation meeting via MS Teams. For such a meeting a flat fee of € 200,- .

I hope that this information is helpful.

Kind regards,

Muhyadin
