Hey everyone. I'm a journalist working on a story about the Pelican Agency, a Turkish football agency that took over FC Dinamo-Auto Tiraspol in Transnistria in 2022.

They recruited players, mostly Ivorian, Gabonese and Nigerian, promising them a shot at European football. Players paid upfront for visas and travel, then got abandoned once they showed up. No pay, no papers, no way home. It got bad for some of these guys.

If anyone's got info I'd genuinely appreciate it:

Come across Pelican or a name like Nail Zeynalov?

Know a player, family member, or agent who went through this?

Heard of similar setups under different names?

Have contracts, screenshots, messages, anything that could help?

Happy to talk in DMs and keep it anonymous if that's easier. Also if anyone knows Moldovan, Ivorian or Gabonese football communities that might know more, point me that way.

It didn't take much to find out about this scam. As you mentioned,  they took money for false promises,  but we're also busted in other illegal and/or very dodgy activities.

Your chances of seeing anyone get their money back are limited at best.

I have actually collected a lot of information and have reached out to some players who went there, couple of them seemed scared to speak and claimed " it's better not to talk about it ".
