Banking, Finance, and Accounting Jobs

johnny807807

Hello,

I am an accountant with PwC. I have 5 years of work experience. I was wondering what the best ways are to find a job in the finance sector in Malta for expats. What is the average pay range? What kind of networking do you recommend, and what are some of the best companies to work for?

I will continue to do online research on my own as I am very interested in making the move to Malta.

Thanks in advance for the help!

As the Maltese government announced yesterday that they will not issue work permits for TCNs till after the Virus problems are over I would think that, unfortunately, it will be a long time before you would be able to get a job here. They also stated that companies which had laid off TCNs because of the downturn due to the virus would not be allowed to employ TCNs in the future as they would not issue them work permits.

Thanks for the (albeit unfortunate) info. I will continue to look though.

What they actually said is no more for unskilled TCNs. Unclear whats considered skilled though.

The way things are at the moment with the virus no one knows what jobs will be available in the future, before deciding on working here you need to come for a holiday which at the moment is out of the question.

Can't say that I saw the word 'unskilled' in the report of the Government statement but then Volcane always disagrees and knows best, whatever the topic.

This is a new statement that they just issued this morning with further detail. The initial translations posted in news organisations did mention "unskilled".

In this brand new statement issued mere minutes ago and more than a day after my previous comment - that I could not quote at the time since I am presently without my trusty time machine - it says "except for highly skilled workers".

Now you might be struggling to deal with opposites the morning but that means no unskilled workers.

Grow up will you? How's this childish display helping the OP with his problem? I gave him correct but limited information as it became available and followed up here with complete information including current relevant contact details to assist him within minutes of it being published.  How are you helping the Original Poster with this?

Best thing is to post information from reliable sources such as Identity Malta's own page rather than what is put in the newspapers, that way people are not mislead.
There are a lot of people with skills that fall in between unskilled and highly skilled and I think the OP is one of them.
I do not think correcting miss information is childish.

Correcting the previous incorrect assertion "will not issue work permits for TCNs till after the Virus problems" with the correct statement that "no more for unskilled TCNs" will receive visas. That was indeed a correction of miss information. I also stated what it means is unclear. I appreciate your validation that this was not childish at all!  I didn't need your permission to post, but appreciate the approval from his highness.

I then followed up with full details once released.  Including how to contact the relevant authorities, who presumably have a list of professions that is being considered still.

Glad you find me correcting your mistakes as a non childish endeavor, I do however think you're childish uninformed pedantry about exact words used in press releases is childish, since apparently you cannot be bothered to verify facts before speaking.

Perhaps you forget what this community is for, people ask information from others who might have the answers, others can choose to help those people or not.  Your ongoing nit picking, pedantry, little snide comments on everything I post and general teenager like behaviour is not helping anyone and is not relevant information.  Can you please stop.
