simone1980

Hey all,

I am looking at moving to malta next year with my family. There will be me and parter 4 children, 8yrs, 4yrs, 3 yrs, 1yr.

I am level 2 trained beauty therapist, and my parter doesnt have a trade butld  works as security at London Gatwick airport at the moment. Do you think there would be any job opportunites for us?

How much do you think we would need to earn for us to live without being stressed about bill to pay every month??

any other tips on living out in malta would be a great help thank you.

Simone xx

Hi Simone,

Check out previous post in the work and everyday living sections. A lot has been posted on costs of living in Malta ,schooling and accomodation. I wouldn't dare to make a quote on the money necessary for a family with 4 kids to live on , it depends on so many individual issues.

As far as I can see the situation with beauty therapists is similar to hairdressers ie there is one on every corner. Most run their own business . But , as with everything. there is always room for good quality and service. But it might be tough at the beginning. Many of the bigger hotels offer beauty treatments . It might be where to start looking for a job.

Malta is supposed to have a low crime rate but security guards can be seen everywhere, not only at the airport. I don't think it will be difficult to get a licence and there are lots of jobs around for your partner, not only at the airport.

The main problem could be earning enough to live off for each one of your jobs on its own. Both finding work and earning should be enough to live off.

You should go on an expedition to Malta and check the job and schooling situation before making the move.

Regards
Ricky
