Schools ages /grades

Hi I'm trying to find info on what grades my children would be going into in malta this September.
Currently we live in a Spain here kids go to primary until they are 11/12 and then move to secondary as it's based on the Calender year you were born dec- jan as opposed to the uk system which is sept -sept.
could someone please shed some light on ages for each grade as I'm struggling to find the info, my daughters are the following ages:

Age 10 turns 11 in November and age 8 turns 9 December

If someone could shed some light on this it would be much appreciated!

Hi!

Thanks still can't see any info on there relating to which age go into each year
At 11 year old it is Form 1 in a secondary school,

At 9 year old it is Year 5 in a primary school

for more details: http://education.gov.mt/
So if you turn 11 this year anytime between jan-dec you go to secondary in September ? Or is it the uk style system where if you turn 11 before the start of the school year you go to secondary . sorry if I sound thick but have trawled through the government websites already and can't find this info.
I think it goes from Jan to Dec. My youngest is the end of December and she started school at 2 years 9 months. Your eldest could go into form 1 of middle school (for 2 years) before going onto secondary school and your 8 year old will be in year 5, just as tikka007 said.
Thanks! So it's the same way it works in Spain then both mine started school here when they were 2 too. Thanks so much for your help!
