Passport Renewal

Hi guys.

The thing is that my passport is running out in August. And I just found out that I can't renew my passport in Malta, as there is no Danish embassy.

I was referred to go to Rome - which is ok. But do you know how the procedure works?

Like, Do I have to go to give them my passport, and then go back to pick up my new one? Or how does it work?

Is it really true that a consulate cannot do anything for me?

I doubt your new passport will be available the same day, so can't see how you can go in person
I've decided this:

I'm going home to Copenhagen in June just for a week, in that week I will create my new passport, I know it will take 4 weeks time for them to create it. But my mom can pick it up for me.

After that my mom will bring me my new one when she comes to Malta in September.

A month with a expired passport is alright.

Thanks for your response George.

Micks.
Don't you have to hand in your 'old' passport to get a new one. How do you plan to get back into Malta without the new or old passport?

I've just been in contact with the Danish Embassy in Rome.
I don't need to hand in my old passport when I request a new one. They just (obviously!) need to see it when I apply.

So I will still be able to get back.

That's good news ;)
