spouse visa

The Scholar94

Hi everyone :)

The spouse visa looks like a daunting application with the UKVI wanting strong evidence. Me and my partner recently got married in Bangladesh so she is getting to work to have the document translated (certified) into English. Aside from this one peice of strong evidence, I'm looking at being added onto to her newly created bank account as a joint name - another peice of strong evidence.

Also, the advice on Gov.uk is that photos, whatsapp chat logs/screenshots and letters of affirmation are classed as weak evidence and are not really considered. Well I have 125 screenshots of our messages. This is with the advice of the Immigration Solicitor that I should in fact start to screenshot every communication.

Secondly, I have a spent conviction for a court fine under section 3.1 of the Computer Misuse Act (logging into my ex-partner's social media). There is no other history on the PNC, but my quesiton is, will I have to declare this given the prerequiste for informaiton on my end, as stated by the Gov.uk website is slim? https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/provide-information:

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

In general, UK Immigration is looking for evidence that yours is a marriage in the true sense, and not a marriage of convenience to enable you or your partner to circumvent the UK Immigration rules.

The requirements of the UK Government with regard to a Criminal Record Certificate can be found on the UK Gov website; you can download the entire document as a PDF file to your device by following this link.

I hope this helps.

Hi Cynic

Thank you for responding, I really appreciate it.

Our marriage is in the true sense and should it come to interview, then I'll be able to do the talking.

I'll get in touch with the solicitor around the CRC. The link you provided was great, I did read that at some point the other week. I missed this line: All applicants for entry clearance are required to provide information and details about any previous offending on their application form.

Clearly I have to provide a certificate too and that concerns me greatly. We'll see what the solicitor says.
