90 days stay rule

You can travel back and forth as you please. If you’re talking about an extended period of time then check your visa’s conditions

Last time I looked it was no more than 90 days out of Cyprus in a rolling year. Exceeding this resulted in the visa being cancelled. This is for temp residency visa holders. My understanding is that if you have long term residency visa you can come and go as you please.

It could be or likely to be different  for EU nationals ..freedom of movement and all that.

I would expect an EU national to have no restrictions on movement within the whole of the EU including Cyprus. They should be able to come and go as many times and for as long as they like.

Exactly my thought Phil.... But as permanent residents trips back and forth to your homeland is unlimited ... As a temporary might be restricted but I thought that the ruling was as many times as you want as long as each visit wasn't more than 90 days in one visit. NOT  visits upto 90 days in 12 months..  maybe its changed as it often does

There is no law limiting total absences to 90 days in a 12-month period.

​The relevant legal rule under Cyprus Civil Registry and Migration Department (CRMD) regulations concerns consecutive continuous absence, not total cumulative days.

​The Actual 90-Day Rule

​The Rule: A temporary residence permit (often called a Temporary Residence Permit / Pink Slip) automatically becomes invalid if the holder is absent from Cyprus for more than 90 consecutive days. 

​How It Works: As long as you return to Cyprus before reaching 90 continuous calendar days abroad, the single-absence counter resets.

​Cumulative Days: There is no overarching statutory annual limit of "90 days total per year" that restricts outbound trips to the UK. You can make multiple trips in and out of Cyprus throughout the year without invalidating your temporary residency, provided no single trip exceeds 90 continuous days outside the country.

​What to Keep in Mind

​Permit Renewal & Physical Presence: While total cumulative days away do not trigger an automatic cancellation under the 90-consecutive-day rule, immigration authorities expect a temporary resident to actually reside in Cyprus. Spending almost the entire year outside the island in short fragments can lead to questions or scrutiny upon permit renewal. 

​Path to Permanent / Long-Term Status: If you eventually plan to apply for EU Long-Term Residency (after 5 years), cumulative absence limits do apply. For that specific long-term status, your total combined absences across the 5-year period generally cannot exceed 10 months (and no single absence over 6 continuous months). 

​UK Statutory Residence Test: While Cyprus allows you to pop back and forth, spending extensive total days in the UK across a tax year could inadvertently trigger UK tax residency under HM Revenue & Customs rules.

Well that's all a bit confusing. 90 consecutive days triggers cancellation. 10 total months absent in the 5 year period and then no single over 6 months. Doh! Is the 6 month continuous after obtaining long term or before

I suggest that any visit should not exceed 90 days.... And as long as that is observed then other visits are possible...I think common sense would prevail if your normal residence activity proves reality... There is always going to  be somebody who needs an absence of more than that  IE family illness
