Off shore accounts

derekxrp999

Hi im looking for information, to reside in Cyprus, the government requires an income of 24k euros per year..

Now they expect and income in a Cypriot account  and the rest i believe from an external source, however if you cut all ties with the UK and my bank as indicated that they will close my account, how can I continue to have an account with my funds safety deposited.

Are there on line banks i can use that are recognised by the Cypriot government as an external source?

Thank you..

Some UK banks allow their accounts to be operated even when the account holder is living abroad. What is your UK bank?

My bank is the RBS, they don't allow bank accounts once you've left the UK.

HSBC can give me an off shore account but its 100k deposit

I require a bank that the Cypriot government recognise as an external source..

We have a joint HSBC Advance account which I opened after I arrived in Cyprus. My UK bank, Santander, were becoming more difficult so I changed. I did it all online, took about 2 weeks to get the account opened.

Thank you, looks like I'll have to go down the same road, much appreciated for the information...

Hello,

I can assist you with visitor visa (pink slip) obtaining for the UK citizens.

Basically, you need to show that you have agreement, business or employment outside of Cyprus.

you can deposit 10,000 to your CY bank account and monthly the rest or you can deposit 25,000 to your bank account

Cyprus migration department will not accept bank account opened in Revolut or other online banks.

You need to have bank account in Cyprus and you need to send money from abroad.

You can send money from the bank or payment institution opened outside of Cyprus.

Don't quote me verbatim here, but I don't think they care where the funds are transferred in from as long as they "come from a foreign source".

We listed investment accounts outside Cyprus as our source of funds during the immigration renewal process (temporary residence - visitor permit) and when we did not transfer the full 24k into the Cyprus bank account last year, they sent us a letter asking for confirmation of where our funds were coming in from.

And we sent them the investment account statements as proof we were able to support ourselves financially here for the full year.

The 24k is 2k per month which is what they believe you need to live here.

that 24k has to come from somewhere every year, and it must get transferred in from a foreign source (bank account, pension, investment account, etc)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it is my belief that their primary focus is to ensure you have enough funds to live here comfortably without having a Cyprus based income, aka a job.

Which is most definitely verboten with a Visitor permit.

As far as online banks that you can use, I can't help you there.

I use iFastGB since they have multi-currency accounts (including Euro) and they are more than happy to open accounts for non-UK and UK residents. Most importantly, iFast actually pays interest on bank accounts, which is more than Bank of Cyprus does.
