@jassalti You will get a lot of that here. People yes you to death, yet what they are really saying, they do not know. That rule applies here with pretty much everything. There is an alternative here, called concerta medication. I have used it, works well

Maybe worth your time to go the Hospital Clinica Biblica, CIMA and Hospital La Catolica all of which are in the San Jose area. These are the best hospitals in the country and must have a large fountain of knowledge and a great pharmacy who should know if about the Rx you need.

I was told that medications cannot be sent through the mail to Costa Rica.  Customs will convascate.  Let me know.

Email me at *** and I'll put you in touch with a service which can import your meds. You'll still need to go through the U.S. "doctor/prescription/pharmacy" process and have the meds mailed to a Florida address. It won't be quick, but it will be cheap, and the service is reliable.

It is correct that medications cannot be sent to you via the Costa Rica Correo or via Aeropost, Liberty, JetBox or other mail and freight forwarding services.

Hello, I know this post is old, but I live in Guanacaste and am trying to find a way to get my meds here from the States, other than me taking trips to US 4-6x per year. Can you please provide the service you use for this? Thank you!

Eladio V runs a service which assigns you a customer number and gives you a mailing address in Doral, Florida. Your mail-in pharmacy can send meds to you there. Then Eladio forwards them (or anything else you chose to import) to his destination here in Heredia. Getting stuff from Doral to Heredia costs $6US per pound or fraction thereof.

You can either go to Heredia to pick up your stuff or you can have Eladio's cousin (I think), Tony B, ship it to your nearest bus station via the bus freight shipping system, which widely used throughout Costa Rica. Each Heredia-to-you shipment will depend on Tony's cost plus a small fee for his service. It ain't much.

hi, I met with a psychiatrist 2 weeks ago to plan for my own relocation to CR. He told me that Adderal is not prescribed at all in the country because it is an amphetamine and they are illegal in Costa Rica.

However, Ridallin is allowed to be prescribed and when I relocate in a month or two we will make the switch.

I have always heard they are very similar, but this will be the first time trying it.  Maybe you might want to ask your doctor for Ritalin. Hopefully that can get you back on track.
