We looked at Hummingbird Furnishings several months ago, but didn't see anything we were interested in at the time. The prices seemed reasonable.

Thanks for your reply. I checked them out but seems expensive. Do they have like second hand stores or like a Craigslist down there? Also wondering about auto insurance while down there. It seems most won't cover in Belize. Any info?

No Craig's list or similar. Not much done by internet in Belize. You could probably buy furniture at market days in SI or Belmopan, not sure. Word of mouth is probably the best option.
There are a number of insurance companies around. Where you plan to reside will be a factor. If you are living on a caye, you can forget about having a car. There are limitations and restrictions concerning vehicles on the cayes.

There are Menonite familiy companies  who set up on the markets in Belmopan and SI. Most they deal in  wooden As in tables chairs beds etc but if you see a piece of furniture in a book or catalog you like, if you show it, then they can usually reproduce a good facsimilie.
All our wooden furniture has been from Mennonite builders happy with it all. Courts isn't terribly expensive to buy  in cash as you will get a 10% discount. They sell goods as we say in the uk "on tick" usually on a revolving credit limit. So cash gets a discount. Have had some stuff from courts, metal frame beds, and appliances never had a problem. Also used Hummingbird for a suite but I was lucky to be passing  by when we saw they had their 'one' day annual  half price sale and paid 50% of marked price.

There’s a furniture store in Corozal across the road from the house of culture that does custom upholstery. Sofa and 2 chairs for $650 bze.
