Permanent residency in Belize

Hello,
We are US citizens living with residency in Mexico. Our next planned stop is in Belize. Within three years from that time we should be off sailing. Some information is rather difficult to obtain for Belize so I decided to join here, namely that of the permanent residency. Does is expire, and are there any in country time requirements once obtained?

As far as I know, residency does not expire. The card does, and has to be renewed every 5 years.

In country requirements exist if you want to apply for citizenship, 5 years after acquiring PR.

When you prepare your package for PR, follow instructions, to a t, as to documents, copies and notarizations where required.

An appointment is needed to submit your application package.

Check GOB website frequently for changes.
