Chip imbedded credit/debit cards

Diazo

A word of caution. I have recently learned that not all ATM have the technology yet here in VM to read chip embedded cards. Many many times my transactions could not be processed at many banks. Finally got one to show the reason why. Not a problem for me now that I know, except when I travel in country. Maybe someday they all will get updated machines.

That is nothing new. Since a year or even 2, banks are urged regularly to upgrade their ATMs. As this is a matter of costs, most  (working) ATMs are now inside some  businesses, which have security as well as camera controlled.
I have no problems with my cards so far, as I only use cards from local banks and preferable use the ATM matching my card.

As a side note: the chips also ain't the solution. In computer terms it's just a one more ENTER and they are cheap, widely available, same as anything surrounding any ATM card

Oh well, it was new to me. Lived here 10 years only started happening rather recently. Unfortunately I live nothing else your observation in regards to inside ATM’s and security    does not apply here. I rather doubt it would apply to local cards rather obviously (if they do not have machines to accept the technology, why have such a card).
