If I plan on living in Saigon, do I need a mopede bike license?

If so,  how do I go about getting one?  Thanks.

By moped you mean those little motorised bicycles or you mean a scooter? Anything under 50cc you don't need a licence , above that you will need one.

All the details are on this thread: https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.p … 89#1777673

There is no license required to drive a moped below 50cc  :)
But you need one if it's above 50cc

charmavietnam

the process is quite simple since i already have a motorcycle licenses back in CA. which district are you planning to stay at? and do you already have a motorcycle licenses yet? if you do, all you need to do is have your licenses translated into vietnamese and have it converted.

not always true. if you go thru an khang services ( google them ) on dien bien phu district 1 they can have your VN licenses expires the same day as your US licenses. Which means your VN licenses will expire on your birthday since you already have a US licenses.

does  anyone know-

Is it possible to get licence without the transport office  citing original documents so I could use a third person to go there with copies & form?

Is the receipt for licence still valid to use until card arrives?

An khang has anyone experience with them?

Thanks
