Aikile

Does anyone know if it is possible for me to open up a bank account with my aunt in Vietnam? She is a Vietnamese citizen while I am not.

I'm USA, my wife is Vietnamese.  We are allowed to, but if you withdrawal in person, both need to be there to sign (as I understand it). We use HSBC and find it easier to open 2 accounts (to transfer if needed) and use ATM cards

Hello,

As my best of knowledge, some banks in Vietnam is allowed to open bank account under the co-holders mode. If this is a case, for the payment transaction, it is required to have the living signatures of all co-holders. If not, a power of attorney is required.

I hope this helps.
