Temporary residency visa extension.

River Frogs

My 2-yr TRV will expire within 2 months. Does anyone have current and accurate information regarding if it is possible to extend an TRV? I have heard opinions and have my own belief. Problem being, heard opinions and my belief could be far from accurate.
Has anyone attempted to extend their TRV? If so??

TRC you mean ? If you used an agent before they Will undoubtedly relieve you of some cash to renew it.

I haven't had to do it yet, but when I got my TRC last year I asked and immigration simply said submit the same document requirements and pay again and it should be no problem.

Thanks, Jlgarbutt for your renewal TRC comments. Always excessive moving parts involved, but worth the effort.

I made an appointment at the US Embassy last month and it was cancelled. Now they just cancelled my June 4 appointment.
My TRC expires this month so I just requested an emergency appointment. I need them to sign a paper allowing me to get a PRC (Perinate Resident Card). Because I've been married to a VN lady for five years now, this shouldn't be a problem but I need to get it processed this month.
I guess this is a little different than your situation, River Frogs. I think what Jlgarbutt is likely more appropriate for you but I'll let you know if I find out anything else.

Thanks for your response Drutter, Difficult process in now more difficult times. Wish us both good luck.

You must have a agent that is screwing you over 6 ways from Sunday drutter. That doc from the USA Consulate is only one of the few docs you need from them. Married to a fine lady from VN is great for the sponsorship part of the PRC package but it's a only a small part of it. Not trying to discourage you but a PRC is one of the most difficult procedures to accomplish in VN. I'll will add VN immigration officials looks highly suspicious of any paperwork you submit if they even think an agent is involved.

No problems, I did my new TRC 6 months ago, cost 200usd. You have to submit the same paperwork all over again. Not too difficult.

Yes, my wife just got the same information this morning. Considering the current COVID situation we have decided to renew the TRC for now. Thank you for your input.
However, we do not have an agent. My wife is quite good at this stuff and doesn't require a service agent.

Definitely possible to do yourself without the expense of ana agent. As long as you have someone who understands the forms it's straightforward
