@Aidan in HCMC
Howdy Aiden, I thought I butt in for a question on border run for visa renewal from hcmc. First, do you have some information on border run service from district in hcmc. 2. How long is the turn around time for reentry to vn. Is there an overnight stay in Cambodia if run from hcmc - @brianAFSER73
Hey Brian!
Turnaround time totally depends upon when you leave the country and whether or not you have an agent in Vietnam prepared to do an urgent submission of your new visa application.
if you have prepared ahead of time with a Visa agent in Vietnam, they can process your urgent application as soon as you cross the border and you notify them that your exit stamp is in your passport.
In a case such as that, turn around time can be between 2 and 4 hours normally.
However, if you don't use an agent, there are a number of factors that can extend and complicate your turnaround time.
The average E-visa processing time is 3 business days, but it's not unusual for an application to take four or even 5 BUSINESS days to get approved.
Occasionally, rarely, an application might be approved in 2 days.
But the first consideration is that you must make absolutely sure your exit stamp is correctly entered into your passport and immediately processed by the border guard.
I've heard of people getting delayed because they weren't willing to give the border guard a little coffee money, so he didn't go out of his way to process the exit stamp and when they applied for their new visa in Cambodia they were told that it couldn't be processed because they were still in Vietnam.
According to reliable sources it can take the army border guards as much as 5 days to process your exit stamp, during which time you appear to be still in Vietnam.
So first and foremost you really do have to make sure that your exit stamp is processed immediately on your exit from the country.
Then the other main concern is the calculation of business days.
immigration only processes applications Monday through Friday and never on holidays.
So let's say that you apply for your visa on a Wednesday.
You might think that you could get it by Friday but in reality they really do need full business days to do the processing.
So if you applied late in the afternoon or early in the evening on a Wednesday, your first business day is Thursday, your second business day is Friday, your third business day is Monday, and you will likely not see your approved application until very late on Monday or on Tuesday.
Consider all of that when you are deciding whether or not to pay a trustworthy visa agent for a very great service.
Good luck and let us know how it goes
