Recommendations for Quality Leather Shoe Repair (anywhere) in Vietnam

Aidan in HCMC

Something akin to Moneysworth & Best would be fine. Doesn't have to be a high-end outlet, but certainly not anywhere that might use 502 (i.e. super-glue, krazy-glue etc), or want to nail taps to the heel or toe.

I live in Phu Quoc where no such professional shops are found.

I've done a little online research and found some promising businesses, but was hoping to hear from people with firsthand experience (at any location in Vietnam).

You might have to do a little digging through this webpage (link) and the many articles they have written about the leather scene here in Hội An.

The sources (authors) are well-known as good providers of insight without an apparent commercial agenda.

While leather/shoe repair is not the main focus of many shops here, there are certainly shops with working craftspeople on site who will take on just about any related custom work for the right price.

(My wife and I had great success getting our wedding shoes made here)

Thank you for the link, OB.

I browsed through, and am quite impressed by the array of leather goods available in Hoi An! I focused on this page, but sadly no mention of repair service, specifically.

Which shop did you use for your custom mades?

We used this place (Google Maps link) because our tailor recommended it as a place where we would get good quality at decent prices.

They aren't one of the places with a cobbler actually present in the store, but like many places they do the measurements and then send the order out to their cobbler in another location (maybe in the back of the building; I don't know).

I'm not saying they wouldn't be able to help you, but be prepared to go through a third party to get to the person you need to do the repair (sales people here speak English but not so much the craftspeople.
