I’m now looking to move back to Thailand with my little girl shes 3, but don’t know where to start really. I need advice on visas, moving their with a young child, income advice etc etc

Are there any single mums who have done this already? I’d love to hear your story and ask questions x

The first and most important thing you need is a visa.  I assume you do not have a job and or not of retiree age.  ;-D

What is left is the Educational Visa. Read this link https://thaievisa.go.th/; there are a few options to choose from to see if you are eligible. maybe there is another one. Maybe you need a Thail male friend to be your husband and get a dependent visa.

You will also need a visa for your daughter, I am not sure if she will be allowed without that and if you will be able to get her in on your ED visa.

A young child needs education, if you want to enroll here somewhere not being a Thai school it will cost more money than you can make as a teacher.

So what is left are Thai bilingual schools, some are affordable and she learns Thai as well and then the Thai schools. Nothing bad about them but they are a little bit limited in their study materials and on the actual happenings outside of Thailand (which is the center of the universe)

You could enter her in a day care with some educational benefits such as languages before you enroll her

Chumpon is great to live, but I am pretty sure that it does not have the facilities for you and your daughter to settle down, I mean schooling and work.

Did you pick up any Thai language skills when you were here? Do you have a reference (letter) from your previous employer?

All these things help

and checking job boards like jobsdb.co.th

Hello, thanks for this. I’ve had a quick research into visas and schools. There are some good international schools I have found that will give my daughter an ED visa and me a non-o visa which would be great but of course I need to oay the school fees which can be costly but would be worth it. I don’t think I would live in Chumphon again,  although I did enjoy it, maybe Koh Samui this time?

Thanks for the help x
