HI ray80,
I've been living in Sri Lanka for 3 years, and now ready to move to other country since my husband contract will be finished soon.
Sri Lankan are over friendly, honestly! my husband's nephew came from the UK early this year, and almost got trap by a pimp, thank God we have our friendly Sri Lankan friends who were with us.
It's not women friendly country, during my 3 years, I've been harassed for many times, including from the police and army personel.

There are lots of beautiful beaches, but my favorite is Una Watuna beach. And yes, you can hire motorbikes. There'll be lots of internet cafe and places with WIFI. I always stay in the same place every time we go to Una Watuna. It's a reasonable price for guest house, friendly owner ( he helped us with things), clean and the last time we stayed there they have finished new 2 rooms.

The point is, don't get fooled by over friendly people who mostly are men.
