EP Rejected

@zakovich007 Hi, I just got my EP appeal approved after the appeal submitted 3 weeks. Submitted on 14th Mar and just get approved 7th April. My previous rejection letter indicate: This candidate does not meet the qualifying criteria. In line with the rising local wages, the criteria for EP have been tightened to ensure the EP holders are complementary to local workforce. If you still choose to employ this candidate, you can submit appeal. My first appeal failed as the company didn't change anything, but 2nd appeal get successful because they revised my salary higher. If it is convenient, can you share the whole description in the rejection letter?

My EP was rejected today. The reason given by MOM is that "you have not provided satisfactory documentation or information for this candidate under the shortage occupation list." My employer contacted MOM to verify the details and to understand what additional documents are needed for the appeal. We found out that we need to submit more information and documents to support the role we are applying for.

Has anyone else faced the same rejection reason? What were your experiences? Is there a chance of approval if we reappeal, and what documents should we submit to strengthen our case?

It is good that your employer is working with MoM to understand their requirements and supply the needed (and so far missing) information.

However, there is of course no guarantee that this will be successful. Obviously, MoM has doubts whether a foreigner should be hired for this kind of job at all.

If I were you, I would continue looking for other employers and jobs!

Hello all - my EP application was rejected after 5 weeks with the reason that "the candidate does not meet the criteria for the pass", without specifying what criteria has not been met. The employer will speak to the MoM and file an appeal. What are the chances that the MoM will let us know the criteria that needs to be met and what are the chances of them reversing their rejection upon appeal?

Background - My employer is a law firm and I have completed my LSRA registration (as a foreign lawyer) and my educational verification is also done.

@Nav M Whether the specific rejection reason is disclosed to your employer, or not, depends on the individual processing officer at MoM. But since EPs are now awarded based on a clear and publicised points system, it should be easy to figure it out by yourself. Appealing without removing the underlying rejection reason is a waste of time.

@khushboo Gupta - sorry to hear that. Is your employer going to file a second appeal?

@khushboo Gupta sorry to hear that. I am assuming it might be due to your no work experience. Singapore govt is pushing hard with Cyber Security and Data Analytics related studies and jobs. Many local universities like NUS, NTU are pushing for studies in this field. In that scenario push for hiring a local graduate seems logical.
