A rent required for a couple

Dear All,

I and my husband are moving to Singapore by July as he is having a scholarship for 4 years as a joint between NTU & BII. We may stay at the university place but I don't like it much, so I was wondering if anyone can advise us where to find a furnished apartment or even studio with up to 700 S$/ month. If anyone has another idea or has a place, please let us know.

You will definitely not find an apartment or studio at that price. Even most sublet rooms (in shared apartments) cost more than that nowadays!
For a simple two-bedroom HDB flat, budget S$1600/month and above (S$2000 and above for a more convenient location, i.e. within reach of an MRT station) and a studio or one-room apartment costs at least S$2400/month (they cost more than HDBs because they are not government-regulated!).
