Planning to stay longer in the Philippines – visa advice needed

Hi everyone,

I’ve been helping a few expats recently with questions about staying longer in the Philippines, so I thought I’d also share some general guidance here for anyone planning a longer stay or retirement.

Many foreigners start with a tourist visa and later realize there are different options depending on length of stay, purpose (retirement, marriage, or frequent visits), and personal situation.

The process can sometimes be confusing because requirements and extensions vary, and people often don’t realize what options they qualify for until they are already in the country.

If anyone is currently planning to stay long-term, retire, or just wants to understand their visa options better, feel free to ask here in the comments. I’m happy to point you in the right direction based on experience.

Well Sir . . . . . Is there anything New that has not been offered on this forum before?

I fail to understand to reason of this post.

I could understand if it was coming from an Expat that was just sharing their experience. But you are a Filipino. Is this a soft way of ropping people in, then selling your services?

All the answers are available online for visa options. There are winners and there are opportunists.

Cheers, Steve.
