I am a fashion designer working here in India..with 3 years of experience.
My husband's company is sending me on business visa with him n has promised to help in converting it into a dependent visa.
I am keen on working there....so
how easy or difficult it is to get a work permit..n job for a Indian designer?
How much time it will take to do the procedure?
Can i search for a job on business visa?

Dear All,
I am new out here. I was told that the company has dispatched the Work Permit(Malaysia) at my postal address. I wanted to know that in how many days will I receive it so that I can give it in the embassy to get my Visa.

Nemodot

That sounds very odd. Work permits are issued in Malaysia at immigration. Never sent in the post! Maybe you have been scammed by a fake agency/job?

caesar1956

hi danzellon
lot of scammers around waiting to make a fast buck from innocent people like you

danzellon

Thank you for the reply Nemodot.

I meant that I will receive the permit at my home address because there is no agent involved in the middle. The immigration will get it delivered at my home address so that I can get the visa on the basis of that permit. Normally the visa part is done by the agents but since the guy is a far relative I will receive the permit at my postal address.

danzellon

Thanks ceasar.

Actually the guy is a far relative so I don't think that he will cheat me. I was just concerned about the duration it might take for the permit to be delivered at my doorstep so that I can get the Visa on it.

caesar1956

why would the immigration office in malaysia send you a visa to your address in india
i have never heard of the permit delivered to yourstep, this is a 1st for me, the visa has to be put on the page in your passport,, how would you go about it?

danzellon

No NO ceasar you got it wrong. I was saying that the permit has been put in courier to reach at my door step. After receiving the permit I will have to submit it in the embassy along with my passport to get the visa on my passport.

caesar1956

so you mean they would issue your sponsor a letter in malaysia,, then your sponsor who is also your relative would courier the letter to you,, then you take the letter to the malaysian embassy in india, and the embassy would put the visa/pass sticker in your passport am i right?
yes, this is possible

danzellon

yes exactly thats what I meant. I was just worried that they are sending it through local govt post that might take a lot of time than TCS etc.

noisysteps

yes, sometime it can take upto 3-4 weeks... I send something to India once, and it really took long long time.

danzellon

My relative said that since it is registered so it might not take that long etc but I just hope that I get it soon.

Thank you people for all the help.

danzellon

I just got the info that the company has sent me the ticket along with the calling letter. Can this be true?
