For all who will join the first time this festival - it is the biggest and best organized Festival in SH. And not only Jazz ;-)
We will stay the whole afternoon until late. Please bring something to pull over with you. At late evening it could be cold near the waterfront.
Any questions? Feel free to ask. See you all there.
chlo1986 wrote:Oh noo! I'll miss out on both of those sadly, as I work Saturdays. And the Amusement Park sounds awesome. Gutted. Enjoy yourselves! There's a film screening of Princess Mononoke at Vienna Cafe on Thursday eve this week, which I was thinking of going to. It's free but you have to RSVP. Thought I'd let people know about it.

Does someone need my mobile no? Please send me a PM and I will let you know. EB is a bit too big to publish the number public ;-)
About Vienna Screening - if you have time to join Hans, do it. It is a nice location and the movies are always good. Even you might not know the movie it is nice atmosphere. I will miss it today.

We are going for the RMB 580 tickets.First thing, it's Line and my birthday on November 1st, so we definitely want to go out on Saturday (the 29th) for Halloween so I will talk to Line and we will post details here if anyone wants to come (MaximD's idea for Boxing Cat sounds good to me, just have to check with Line).
Second, for the future, I think we should go to karaoke at some point (I've never gone in China, and I bet some people in this group are quite amazing singers... and then some like me, terrible). And I also heard about a cooking class that is currently only charging for food (~50 RMB/person if I remember correctly). If a group wants to go do that, I can organize for some evening/weekend.
Thanks again Asmus for organizing for the JZ festival and hope to see you all soon!
Thanks for all who joined our JZ Festival Event. Was great fun again with you all.
When:
22nd Oct 2011, Saturday. 10:00-22:00
Meeting Point:
SheShan station of metro Line9, there is a sign showing direction of Happyvalley, we could gather there. I will also bring a sign of "Shanghai Stuff". You will find the group either way.
Bring: RMB, Cam, napkin, hat, shades

Hope many of you will join her.

思南公馆26A,
复兴中路519号,

When: October 29th starting around 7 pm (Free flow drinks from 7-11 pm for 150 RMB)
Bring: Money, costume, your dancing skills and gifts for me and Line (haha, just kidding about the gifts!)
My costume will help me blend in with the surroundings, so give me a call if you can't find me. Hope to see you there!

I m guessing somewhere around 10 ppl of the forum will be there, can be more unlikely to be less... But anyway, we ll see ya on Sat!
Btw: as an employee of Boxing Cat I'm sure you can arrange a group discount for Expat.com members? Just consider it a welcoming gift from u to ur new friends

And for the costume you'll recognise me for sure

MaximD wrote:I could give you some free beers
That's all I'll remember anyway, didn't read any further
.So...let's start thinking of a next gathering. Let's go for some ART! They have a Picasso exhibition going at the Chinese Expo Pavillion or we can go visit the 1933 building/Moganshan Rd area. Let me know if anyone's up for one of those activities so I can start planning for one of the coming weekends.

I would certianly be up for a bit of culture in the near future Hans (as long as it's on a Sunday). Nice idea.
Please feel free to add me as well but if you guys are heading out anywhere i would love to tag along if you dont mind.
Dave

Kind regards
any new meet up these days? looking forward to see you all....

We are thinking of meeting up coming Sunday, Nov 13th in the afternoon for a walking tour and some drinks or dinner afterwards for those interested. The first thing that popped in mind was Moganshan Rd as I have never visited it before, but we are open to other suggestions.
So let's meet up at 3pm this Sunday, meeting place still to be confirmed.
