Cycling / Motorcycle / eBike in Dalian

The most surprising thing about Dalian is the almost total absence of cycles / ebikes / motor cycles

Does anyone know if they are prohibited by law in the city?

And if not can anyone recommend a seller of ebikes / motorcycle / cycles

Also does an eBike require a license (not required in Wuxi a few years ago for sure)

Technically, they are legal. But you shouldn't bike on the road with cars. But Dalian's roads just aren't designed for bikes. It's a little dangerous since cars don't really give you right-of-way or space. Sometimes there aren't any shoulders. Also, there are many hills in Dalian. So it's quite tiring. In addition, my professor said many Dalian people actually don't know how to ride a bike. Children these days do. But adults often don't.

The Meituan and express delivery Xiao Ge's drive motorcycles to deliver quickly. But they are periodically cracked down on since you *technically* aren't allowed to drive a scooter on the road like they do. But it's a gray area since they do anyways and no one bats an eye.
