Confused Aussie about retirement visa

Good day from down under,

I just discovered that persons over 55 can get a type of "retirement visa" for up to one year but I am not sure what is the process.

It seems you must apply online first for an e-Visa and then once in the country get a full year extension but my concern is that there are confusing messages in the various "YouTube videos" out there.

Some claim you should apply online for business visa, other say DO NOT apply for a tourist e visa..

So which one is it ?
