Cost of living in Mbarara

Hello guys,

My wife and I are contemplating moving from the US to Mbarara, Uganda. I'm trying to find a general cost of living for two people. We would be looking for a 2 bedroom place 3 at the most, probably outside of the central city area. To simplify it, could we live decently on 1000.00 per month USD or would we need much more for simple, but comfortable living?

I think 1000 US dollars a month would be decent forva month expenditure in mbarara...A decent residence could cost you 250 to 300 dollars a month..and generally cost of food ,and other necessities are cheaper in mbarara.

How much you spend will largely depend on your lifestyle, but you should be able to get by with $1, 000 a month.
