Getting Married (Temporary Visa expiring shortly)

Hello,

I wonder if someone can help me. I am supposed to be married on the 16th of December but my visa expires beforehand which is problematic. We know you can't marry on an expired passport visa so I have to be married legally before my church wedding, this is no problem.

So here is my question I need confirmation on. If I get married before my visa expires (25/11/11) will that be sufficient? I can then submit for my Spousal permit the same day and I am legally allowed until the legislation changes to remain in this country and wait for the outcome of it?

I have found a marriage officer who can do this for me and is legally recongised, but does it mean it has to be submitted with home affairs before I can apply for the spousal visa? That’s what I am unsure about, if that’s the case is the only place I can get married at home affairs? This could also take longer than the time I have remaining….

The problem I faced was getting married but if I am already married I can sit and wait for the result, which more than likely will be granted. Also I have heard and be advised it's the constitutional right of a south African to have their partner here and that you can work 30 days after submission even if they have not got back to you?

Is this correct?
