Does anyone know of someone who speaks English, that can teach me French. I have been here for a while now but its taking longer to pick up than I thought it would

Can you remind us what part of the island you're in?
Are you looking for private one-on-one lessons? There are companies that give French as a foreign language lessons too.
The free alternative would be to exchange an hour of English conversation with an hour of French lesson.
